You'll find the term, "Pacific basin" in CD-ROM Hyper EJ
dictionary where its Japanese translation is given as "太平洋海
域". However, if you look at other dictionaries, you'll be confused.

The term seems to mean the same thing as the Pacific Rim in that
context, I believe. However, the point is whether the Rim includes
the Central American nations. I hope this will be of some help to
