つい先日質問をしたばかりで恐縮ですが、別の契約書で理解できない表現に悩んでいます。 The Owner agrees that all taxes and assessments, if any, imposed by the government of the licensed territory on earnings of parties in the classification of Owner, shall be deducted from the royalties due the Owner under this paragraph. 理解できないのは、3行目の in the classification of Owner の部分です。in the classification of ～　で定訳があるのでしょうか。どなたかご教示のほど宜しくお願いしますマコト

記事番号7596へのコメント >earnings of parties in the classification of Owner ================ 定訳は存じません。法律のこともわかりません。あくまで、英語の観点だけから見て発言させて頂きます。 POD には、 classification (1) the action of classifying (2) a category into which something is put と書いてあります。それから、Google の兄貴が、下記の結果を吐き出しています。 This travel service does not own, manage, or control any company, tour or sightseeing company or any service that would fit in the classification of "supplier" or "vendor". 上記は、　http://www.about-family-travel.com/terms2.htm　　から引用。上記の、** という印は、私が入れたものです。さて、辞書の説明と、 Google 兄貴の発言とを見比べると、どうやら、classification は、 category （あるいは、area, field, domain ）という意味らしいです。つまり、もともとの法律の原文の earnings of parties in the classification of Owner というのは、「施主の営業分野（業務分野、取扱分野）に関わる諸当事者の収入」というような意味だと思います。ただし、法律を私は知りませんので、法律用語としてどう訳すのかは、存じません。

記事番号7597へのコメント classificationの意味としては南都隆幸さんの書いた通りだと思います。 Ownwerの種類、分類という意味では、税務上の分類（「法人か個人か」といった税率に関係する分類）という可能性もあるのかなと思いました。ご参考まで
